Flessa Bräu brewery
Artisanal brewing in a city with a rich brewing history
Flessa Bräu – A tradition in the heart of Berlin
Flessa Bräu is a small brewery in the center of Berlin, the city that had the highest brewery density in the world in the 1920s. Unfortunately, not much of this diversity of breweries has survived today.
Flessa Bräu, along with a few other young companies, is continuing the old tradition of producing beer by hand in small breweries. To produce our beers, we only use selected raw materials, such as malt and organic malt from the Weyermann malthouse, as well as hops and organic hops from various growing regions in Germany and pure yeast, which gives our beer its special taste. Sales are limited to the regional market for ecological reasons.
A unique brewing process for the best quality
Beer with passion and without compromise
The beer is prepared with great care and love according to special recipes by our brewer Christoph in what is perhaps the smallest brewhouse in Berlin. During our beer brewing courses and our individual intensive training, you can look over his shoulder and even lend a hand with the brewing process yourself.
In contrast to most industrial breweries, we deliberately avoid any filtration, heat treatment and yield-increasing methods in order to preserve the valuable ingredients as much as possible.
We stick to the lower temperature range during fermentation. This means that fermentation takes longer, but fewer fusel substances are produced, which can cause problems the next day. Our motto also applies to storage - quality over quantity - and so we allow our drink enough storage time to delight many a palate with a beer from Flessa Bräu.
